Did you know that by taking just a few minutes out of your day to focus on your breathing will help you re-centre your emotions, allow yourself to feel calm and restore your sense of being in control?

5 second rule

Navy SEALs use a similar technique to control emotions in high-stress combat situations. It’s quick and you can do it anywhere - if you start practising when you're feeling OK, you'll find it much easier to do it when you face a stressful situation.


It's pretty simple really:


  • Breathing through your nose
  • Breathe in for 5 seconds 
  • Breathe out for 5 seconds


Breathing is a natural thing - why is it so important?

By breathing consciously you focus your mind on this activity, and you allow your conscious mind to stop for a moment.


You allow yourself to let go of the stresses and worries of the day and reach a sense of calmness which enables you to deal with challenges of everyday life easier and feeling more in control.
